What I Wish I Would Have Known Before I Left My Job to Start a Coaching Business...

You see, back in 2007 I had a sweet corporate gig at a Fortune 100 company...
I had the salary, the house, the car, the life...
And looking back, it felt like slow suicide to my soul.

Hey there, I’m Mindie Kniss.
If you’ve ever thought about becoming a coach and building a profitable business around helping people change their lives…
Or if you’ve already started your coaching practice, but haven’t gained a lot of traction yet…

Keep reading because I’m going to tell you how you can help hundreds of people transform their lives and build a business that offers you freedom of time, money and location…

Sounds pretty good, right?

But let me back up a minute and tell you how this all got started for me…

In 2006, I moved to Nairobi, Kenya when I was awarded the prestigious Global Health Fellowship for my humanitarian work with women and children in developing countries. It was there that I was able to step back from my regular routines and really consider what I wanted to do.

I wanted to find the answer to Mary Oliver’s question:

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

I decided to start a business when I returned to the States in 2007 (which I did) and in 2008, I left my cushy job and went full-time into coaching.

Or at least that’s what I said I was doing…

The truth was that I wasn’t coaching much at all because I didn’t have many clients.

Eventually, I was paying more to be in business than the business was paying me.

As you can imagine, things went downhill quickly. I’ll spare you all the depressing details, but the bottom line is that I lost everything.

My house was foreclosed, I was evicted from my apartment, and I had to live out of my office and car for a couple months. After that, I ended up in bankruptcy court.

My dream career had become a nightmare.

Eventually, I was able to turn things around by learning everything I could about business and marketing to promote the powerful coaching I was offering.  Now, I’ve more than doubled my income multiple years in a row.  It's crazy to think that just six years ago I couldn't even afford a haircut, and now I run a solid six-figure coaching practice.

If I’d Only Known Then What I Know Now…

Back then, I was hyped up on passion and a desire to create something meaningful in my life, but I didn’t have the tools to realistically make it happen.

What I know now that I wish I’d known then was that you can be the BEST COACH ON THE PLANET and still not be able to pay your cell phone bill.

It’s only when you have the right foundation, the right messaging, and the right mentor that you can build a ladder to your vision in the sky.

In 2014, I tested out a crazy idea to put everything I’d learned along the way into a program that would provide all the things I was missing when I started.

Cor Coaching Academy was born.
